In March of last year, Andy Campbell asked me to write an essay for an upcoming book he was editing on faith and fatherhood featuring contributions from 40 Christian men under the age of 40.
Saying yes was the easy part. Then came writing, editing, revising and re-writing. The process took a while, but I’m very pleased with the result.
Three weeks from today, on October 14, 2014, the finished product will be released as Father Factor, a collection of 40 essays from diverse voices across the American church landscape, the fifth volume in the interfaith “I Speak for Myself” series published by White Cloud Press.
My essay, “Pulling Teeth,” explores how losing both a father and son has shaped my understanding of faithful fatherhood in light of a cross-cultural upbringing. You can read an excerpt of it here.
Ready for the strong close? Here it is: If you pre-order before October 14, you can get the book for 35% off the list price. But don’t take my word for it (chuckle), check out the book’s endorsements (apparently some guy named Mouw liked it) or scroll through the full list of contributors for more info.
Thanks for reading!
